If you are buying a Chausoon the habitation checks can only be done by a Chausoon dealer. It is in the small print France do not accept NCC approved technicians !
Also after sales is poor if you contact customer services in France speak to Gilles Arnaud. Sadly they don't deal with where is the best dealer or who is my nearest dealer or I have a scratch !!! I know not good ...
Chausoon expect the British dealer to handle problems be very careful who you buy from. I have heard good of Chichester and Highbridge not lowdnhams ...

If you do buy new spend a long time checking everything ask to stay for 24 hours or drive close by some models have cracks in plastics and gaps between the cab and hab !!!
Diesel heating electrics not conected and water drainage not conected under shower ?

I was very unlucky with a Friday afternoon bus they sold 600 last year to the uk there are a lot of happier customers. Just saying be careful ;)

Sounds like one to avoid, though you do see lots of them on the roads. cant all be bad

Thanks for bringing that across here Penny: For those not aware, Penny is a member of the UK's Chausson Facebook Forum, and for the last couple of weeks has set herself up as a focus point for the many complaints that Chausson owners have had. That is not to say they are dissatisfied with their motorhomes, indeed, far from it. Most are very pleased with their Chaussons - innovative vans that represent excellent value for money. But like many other makes, they will inevitably suffer from post-sale problems normally addressed by their dealers. BUT - when it comes to after-sales service from Chausson themselves, they are absolutely abysmal. They will IGNORE any e-mails regarding what should be routine enquiries, let alone any serious complaints! And so Penny, on a visit to their HQ in France this week, took it upon herself to arm herself with a ream of complaints from fellow Chausson-owners. As to whether her venture will prove to be a success, only time will tell. She has indeed sorted her own personal complaint, but whether it will actually improve their dreadful customer service? I'm not holding my breath. There is talk on the site of what CAN be done - perhaps asking MMM magazine to take up the challenge? Anybody considering buying a Chausson should seriously take note of her warning and perhaps visit our Facebook site (below) to see the experiences of other owners. If I had been aware before I bought mine (excellent as it is!) this single issue of Chausson's disregard to its UK market, I probably would NOT have bought one. One must have complete confidence in the support of the manufacturer should anything go wrong. I haven't! If I were an executive of Chausson I would be seriously concerned, but it doesn't appear that they are, the more aware that potential buyers are the better! (Bill C.)

Thanks, but a little late for the warning. I have put a deposit on a new chausson728 from TCmotorhomes, herne bay. They seem pretty straight up but only time will tell.

Re Highbridge:

Our chausson is 8 years old & so far we're pretty happy with it, it's v unfortunate that some new owners cant say the same.
This year we've had to replace a few things - drain valve, and fridge burner - we sent away for the parts in the UK.
Also the garage outer door seals each have a small split. As the seal profile is so unusual I couldnt source them, so I emailed Highbridge & after a week or so they quoted me a price for replacements. I thought that was a good effort on their part although we couldnt afford the £60 it would cost! OH has repaired the splits with insulating tape (or insulting tape as we call it) instead so we'll have to keep an eye on them.

Have you checked this website for your door seals?

door seals, rubber seals, rubber extrusions, window rubbers by seals direct

Check the whole site if you don't see yours under caravan seals as they have a huge range.
