We had Robbie in the van last night for almost two hours whilst parked up in Glenrothes Riverside Park car park.
Apologies in advance but I cannot go into details, but things are set to improve in Fife, and we should see most if not all of the improvements by next summer, with works commencing this winter.
Robbies aim is to increase available places to 150. There will be significant improvements made to some of the locations, and there will be measures taken to attempt to control numbers in Elie, and Kingsbarns.
I will update the forum with information when I get Robbies go ahead.
As stated above the situation at Elie and Kingsbarns simply is unsustainable, and things need to improve.
But with regards to Elie things are further compromised by the fact that the Trust only serves the higher section of the carpark.
The lower section being owned by a private land owner.
This is what led to all of our parking being moved to the upper section.
There are other issues which I cannot currently go into, which may further exacerbate the situation in Elie.
Robbie recently gave a presentation to members of the Scottish Government including the deputy first minister Kate Forbes.
His positive comments about us, and the efforts by some to improve the situation were well received by all who attended.
Robbie seems confident of a favourable outcome from the Scottish government.
On a lighter note Robbie thanked me for all of my efforts by giving me the cap below.
Apparently I am the only person outside the Trust to have one.
Somehow I don't see me wearing it when out and about.
Again apologies for being so vague, but I thought I should at least give you an outline of whats going on.
