hi all ye people out there of vast knowledge.
the 3 way switch for the electrics ie engine battery, leisure battery & the 3rd position off.
what position should this be when driving? to charge the leisure battery, if its on leisure battery will it charge the engine battery?
thanks all.
tony

I think you'll find there's a split relay charging system.

This ensures that both the vehicle battery and the leisure battery are charged when the engine's running.

The switch position shouldn't make any difference, if it's a Zig unit like mine.

The switch merely determines what the power source is for the habitation unit.

Just a quick question ... when plugged into the grid, does the vehicle battery normally gets charged? I assumed no and have a trickle charger on it at teh mo ...

TIA

:)

Why not put a multimeter on and try the switch on all 3 positions and then you will know for certain Tony.:)

It is no good asking technical questions on here. You will probably just get some daft Irishman telling you a load of b*****ks.:p:p

Hi dolmen,

Your van only charges the leisure battery and not the vehicle one.

Thanks for the compliment tony.:)

I am well educated, I went to a school for backward boys and forward girls.:D:D

I do not have one of these ziggy stardust chargers on my van, so I cannot advise you. If you know how to use a multimeter, it is best to work it out for yourself.

Not all vans are wired up the same and unless somebody has the same model as yourself then the info might not be accurate.

I did`nt mean any offence tony.

mr maingate i want you to know i went to a high school.
