I installed a customshop designs twin seat swivel base, what a nightmare, couldnt get it to turn all the way around as it kept catching the rubber matting and the seats hit the A pillar. So sent it back and I decided to go for fast swivel base instead, so I decided to change the seats. I have installed a new cab from a Transit Touneo and put in two single seats from a Fiesta MK6 ST. Nice comfy seats just meant I had to get a second seat base. I have also trimmed the roof lining in blue 4 way stretch carpet, thinks it looks better and pur a blue leather gear gaitor on. The seat swivel great now as it does not catch anything and the seat belt is bolted to the seat base, so no getting tangled up with the belt. I am going to do the drivers seat next with the Fasp swivel, just got to lower the hand brake to make it swivel correctly.

Looks very smart.... Hardest part of fitting a passenger seat swivel to our transit Jumbo was getting the person on the phone at the insurance company to understand WHAT a swivelling passenger seat was when I notified them of the change,.

Is this a notifiable change? I bet the guy didn't understand as NOBODY had ever called him to tell him about doing this alteration!

Material change to the vehicle....
I'd be notifying the insurance company... Probably won't make any difference UNLESS you were involved in a accident and they find you have none standard seats/seat base....

When I have had policies for self-build campers and asked them what they needed to know, they only cared about - and specifically told me this, not an assumption - performance alterations to the vehicle - so engine, brakes, etc.
Changing seats, fitting a toilet, hanging curtains, nah.

The only time where there HAS been a requirement on a policy to detail changes is when it was an Agreed Valuation Policy, and so in that situation you tell them about things that have an extra cost to replace over standard.
so ...... "FASP swivel plates - £250"; "Single Seat Base and Seat Upgrade - £300"; etc.

Your choice.... And your insurance company.

Mine wanted to know of any material changes to the vehicle from standard.

Seats make a big difference to potential injuries in an accident...
Especially IF a none standard swivel (is it type approved etc... Some are, some aren't)
Most insurance companies will happily wrangle over none disclosed modifications even reducing pay out to third party cover only (they are legally obliged to maintain this level to protect third parties and will then pursue the policy holder for their losses)

Frankly Id prefer to maintain my full cover for sake of a phone call and letter.

My hobby Transit has the handbrake mounted to the right did you have to modify the fiesta seats to fit onto the transit base

for the LT I got Ford Galaxy seats (probably same as yours?) but not for a tenner!

I fitted FASP swivels on my first conversion but didn't like them. raised the seats much to much and found I never rotated either so they got removed and sold on.

Yes I had to remove the fixing points from the slider rails and then the front two holes fit perfect with the original bolts. I just had to drill another hole at the rear of the runner to fix it down. Also added some spacers to allow the runner to run freely.

Mine were used on middle set of the TV and dinning seats, box and height set by me.
