Hi all just stripped the felt headlining out of an old Hymer. Ive bought leatherette to replace it but has anyone got any ideas on the best adhesive that I can use to stick it to the fibreglass.
suppose you wont go far wrong with good old evostick ,a bit iffy if using in a confined space, can tend to send you into space snif snif . my father many years ago used it to stick tile wall board to the bathroom walls he ended up as high as a kite so funny but its still stuck firmly , you can get it in a spray can now .
Evo stik will melt and lose it's grip if it gets too hot, for instance if you use it to stick carpet inside the roof of a dark blue Vauxhall Midi which you subsequently park in the sun on a hot summer's day in France (for example). Google 'headlining adhesive' and you'll get loads of results. Some of them are even flame retardent.
I use adesives from a company called Glenseal - they are cheap (sikaflex equivilant is 2 or 3 quid a tube). I use a product thats about 100 quid a tub - but its enough for 10 headlinings.... give em a call?
