Very useful for those out and about who are CCC members.
Also it may even be worth the membership if used on a regular basis.
Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions, its currently unavailable.

Service Stop-Off Points
Are you making a long journey or a touring trip and need somewhere to fill up your water, freshen up and take a break?
Please note, we are currently unable to offer this service.
A number of Club Sites offer Service Stop-Off Points for members to use on-site facilities at one of our selected sites without a booking.
For just £7.30, all Club members can use all campsite facilities for up to three hours, including showers.
This service is available for Club members who need to use the on-site facilities without a pitch booking. This service can be subject to unexpected operational issues on the day – so it is recommended to call ahead to be certain of access.
Note: Not all our Club Sites offer Service Stop-Off Points.
Please, check the list below for all Club Sites where Service Stop-Off Points are available:

Wonder when this will be open, not sure if it will be from the 12th as they afaik remained closed between lock downs last year.
anyone know?

It IS a great service, It’s just a bit of a shame that it’s only open to ‘CCC’ members 🤷🏻‍♂️.
I use similar services provided by Small & Big independent sites & Marinas country wide at a similar price for years now. Although at the ones I visit for anything around the £15 Per night mark I end up staying at a few as well over a year.

Here I am the harbinger of doom.

CCC withdrew this service last year for Covid related reasons. It was withdrawn for all open club sites.

No indication when / if it will be reinstated.

Selected ones open up last year between lockdowns because we stayed at the Scone Palace C&CC site on the way up Scotland on 14th September.

Perfectly correct that showers and toilets are closed !

However no reason to stop grey water and cassette emptying and taking on fresh water..Heavy handed but understandable ?

It was an absolute joke at Scone Palace last year with vitually no one taking any notice of the Covid-19 restrictions that were in place.

The toilet / shower block remained open but had a one way system set up, in through the front door and out through the back door with only 3 people allowed in at a time.

In the morning there were queues forming so to save having to queue members were going round the back and coming in through the NO ENTRY signed back door.

I questioned 1 bloke doing this whilst i was in there having waited 15 minutes to get in and his response was ..................... are you the warden, no, so f**k off

I have used the C&CC service stopover facility many times. Glencoe, Dingwall to mention a couple. I have on occasions called into small independent sites and asked to dump waste and fill up and to date haven’t been refused. Always offer to pay and apart from a few who ask for a donation to a charity most don’t charge.
Bugger knows when this will be allowed again, not this year I reckon.

This is the kind of thing that highland council should be looking at.
There are around 1500 campsites in the U.K., then we have thousands of CLS.
Countless carparks that could and should be used.
We don’t really need that many aires, I would rather see what we have in place already being used to the max. But sadly greed, self interest, and ignorance seem to be rampant in this country.

Some CMC & some CCC clubs sites will be open.

BUT CMC do not allow empty / fill stop overs on any club site.
CCC do allow on some, but last year they suspended the facility on all their club sites.
