Castro Marin is basically the first town most of us visit on the Algarve, it is the first town as you cross the border from Spain over the bridge across the Guadiama river, it has a free Aire all services , the water was free this time as the bourne had had an accident ??? Castro Marin town is lovely, lots of little streets to explore, salt pans and museum, windmills, Castle [open] Fort [ closed,] good Library with free WI Fi if wanted big Supermarket, I think this Supermarket shows how much money Motor homers put into the economy as it has really grown in size and is very popular with the Campers. it now also has a good Cafe, bar. The aire holds about 20 vans and is usually full but one usually gets on, there is also an adjacent car park that says no Motor homes but there are usually 25 odd vans parked on it ??? The Cafe bars are good , good food and prices too. There is a Launderette here to it has a lovely settee to sit on, lots of old photos on its wall and a collection of old sewing machines dotted around in there, the Laundry machines are new and huge again I think this is due to the Motor homes. some vans are wild camped around the town too. The Skeletal figure in my picture is an ash tray designed to stop people smoking it is Female and has no head, it is called Eco Lung.
