Excuse my ignorance, what is a top energy box ?

I've carried a Honda EU20i for 3 years and never heard of a top energy box.

Millie,

I'm the same not sure what a top energy box is, please explain further for help. I also carry a Honda EU20 gennie.

Generator

Can I ask also if anyone has a certain was of housing there generator for easy access and use

You have to vent it preferably down wind get a chain and fix around tow bar or over wheel. And if you've not already bought one Costco is best because you get a five year no quible guarantee. I've seen people running them with garage door open but don't think that's a good idea vibration noise and fumes better outside it needs clean air to run properly. I'm going to pick one up myself this week

Understand your post now,my son has a fancy generator £(Italian) I think which I sat in a special unit similar to these for his horse box, remote start from inside the living quarters and silent as it should was in excess of 5k

Ventilation is a really required thing so as overheat doesn't take place also exhaust fumes must be carried away from habitation areas both are a must!

The one I have in my van is a dometic runs on gas built into van has its own exhaust but costs upwards of
6k so we Hondas is ideal if your not gonna use all the time.

Hi Ya,
I have a Remote start/Stop 2000w Generator that I can start by pressing a button on my Cab Dashboard, The Generator itself is mounted in a box at thr Rear of the Vehicle.

The box also houses my reversing camera Too, (Just see lens poking through at Top Centre)

A friend of mine had a generator down in the bilge in his boat. It would only start up on demand, in other words, if you switched on a 240v appliance, the generator would kick in and turn itself off when the appliance was turned off.

Sitting in the boat, you were completely oblivious to this as it was absolutely silent.

I think the make was Onan?

Does that wee tent suppress any of the noise ,( just curious) I know it won't silence it but thought it may restrict some noise?

Not really as I usually have all the panels lifted to ensure ventilation just leaving the top covering the genny.
I have ran it with the side covers down when it was raining and blowing a gale but it was 20 metres away from my van so virtually silent anyway.

Yeah I had one that done the same (Whisper 3500) It was housed in the Engine room, it ran through a 'Demand Switch' & only came on When say the Dishwasher, Tumble Dryer or Washing Machine came on as these was High usage Power eaters.
Expensive, But GREAT.
