carrickfergus anybody been

I used to drive a truck to NI regularly a few years back , not much use to you really except to say the people of NI are generally very nice, carrickfergus has a large marina now but whether you could use the facilities I have no idea, there is a aire not too distant near Ballymena which I think is mentioned on this site, Belfast is just like any other big city with good and bad parts, the difference being you are just a few miles from open countryside, I always parked on Larne docks being nearly 60 foot and there were often camping cars nearby, I never had a problem there and it appeared neither did they, its a beautiful place to visit.

there is an aire in carrigfergus in the carpark at the castle , there is also 1 at whitehead with free overnight parking. whitehead is between carrigfergus & larne sea port. we have not stayed in either overnight.

here goes. I am from NI. I have stayed at the aire in Carrick but unless you need the facility of electricity I would say stay closer to the sea front in the same carpark as it can be noisey closer to the town itself. Along the coast line from Carrick there are many places to stay. I was not all that happy with Whitehead as the first time we went there the facility had been broken. the carpark is too large and boy racers can be present. Hope this helps. Any more info needed let me know.
