Carpathians

Our quest to visit the mountains of Europe continues. We've visited most of the main mountain ranges in France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Austria, Southern Germany, Slovenia and Switzerland. Eastern Germany is planned for the next trip this year. Time for somewhere different next year, all that unexplored (by us) territory further east...anyone been round the Carpathians? If so we'd love to hear some feedback, good places to visit/stay, roads, other practicalities? I guess at least the beer will be cheaper than heading north to Norway!

When will you be there. We will head that way sometime in spring next year. Could this be where we finally get to crack open a bottle or two?
