https://ibb.co/album/23hhBg We did a trip to the IL DE REI in France a couple of years ago , great place to be, and then just wandered France, we came across CARNAC, nice town , good Aire but busy, we read about the Neolithic Stones nearby so went and had a looky there is a route through you can follow with good information from the Visitor centre there, miles of Standing stones, all sorts of theories as to their origin and purpose, plenty of places to wild overnight on the route and in the area, we found a lovely spot beside the sea, and had a night there , lovely.

We stopped off a few years back for the mid summer solstice but weren't allowed amongst the stones then due to flora and fauna growing.

Used to go there every with the the for about 16 years on the trot ,the kids made friends with English,Dutch,German,Irish
they even had a group called carnac dreams we keep in touch with families and the kids keep in touch now and then
we camped at moulin de kermoux just next to the stones and the grande metere ( butlins ) camp site
we have great memories and two nights ago we were talking about a return visit and low and behold the kids want Togo with their kids

We love the whole area around Carnac, and have visited a few times too. We especially like the little town of Locmariaquer on the pretty Bay of Quiberon where there is a tiny campsite near huge Neolithic megaliths and chambered cairns.

A great place for peace and quiet, whilst sinking a posh meal and wine.

Brittany's got a lot going for it. we used to sell on the markets all over France and did the Carnac one a few times. plenty of places to park up in those days .don't forget to have a good torch or 2 for exploring barrows and tombs
