I've visited the campsite for many many years and it as always been reasonably priced.
It was £14 for many years and a year ago I visited it was £17, then 2 months ago it had gone up to £19.50.
I rang on Friday to see if they had room and the staff answered plenty of room, I said thats unusual she replied there's been a change of management and the price has gone up to £25 a night and we only have a few vans in. There's probably room for 50 units.
This campsite is in the heart of the City of Cardiff in a large park and you have hell of a job to get in and I just rang on the off chance.
The campsite is council owned and remains so but I believe they leased out the business.
I decided not to book on principle and went wilding in Crickhowell and with the £50 I saved had the most amazing meal in the Bear pub sitting by a log fire.
Also think of the money I saved because my wife could not go shopping in Cardiff.
A good weekend I think.
The car park in Crichowell is great for wilding and is right in the town but was not noisy.
