I've been shoved, tripped, kicked, swore and glared at. ! .............. ............. ............Christmas shopping gets harder each year ! lol.

How do you get around the mad crowd's this time of year ? ..... or do you enjoy the challenge and the buzz ?

december 24th 4.30am tesco extra i go with my loved one (bless her)and help her get all that is still needed,job done thats my total input for christmas :mad: i then pray for it to be jan 2nd, bar humbug and mean it
 
We dont bother i give my nephews money and i dont speak to my parents(not for 4 years) the wife and i dont buy into this rubbish so all in all we only buy for the inlaws alone and thats it really.We will be taking our pet food up to the local animal shelter and thats it really,if my wife wants something she can get it and its the same for me.
 
Well the shops were very busy with a lot of pushing and shoving etc

Sorry Mr Scrooge but I wasn't referring to the shopping ! :confused: but I find it hard to believe that someone such as yourself would find Shopping beyond or below you. LOL :D

Sho-ping, now, is a different matter - a well respected Chinese philosopher who warned of the perils of taking yourself too seriously. I can send you a copy of his book if you send me a cheque for £200.

shopping explained ......give wife a five pound note ,tell her get what you need explain if you have any change she can treat herself ,as it is christmas . then retire to the nearest hostelry simples

The only problem with all this is that its difficult to down a pint with a frying pan imbedded in your head!
 
i think shopping must be that thing that some people do and it intails spending money,very silly if you ask me.The christmas spirit has long gone,kids and the wife demanding the most exspensive toys and most people worrying about how to pay for them,what ever hapened to "its the thought that counts",bar bar bar bar bloody humbug,most kids look at you gone out if you ask them to put the kettle on:mad:.I truely believe that there must be something in the water because people become more unfriendly every year and some of the shop staff,well most of them,need lessons in manners,they look at you like you are the enemy and not the person keeping them in a job:mad:.Sod christmas shopping and the consumer rat race !!!,bar bar bloody bar bar humbug if you get my drift,yours very sane,very child out,haven't got to go to the doctors for anger management pills tommorow,Shawbags :mad:
 
I must be lucky - wife, kids and grandkids don't want expensive stuff - never have. Just as well really - they wouldn't have got them!

I recommend escaping England during the 3 month build up to the bloody event, though. If you're somewhere sunny it is difficult for them to throw all the jingle bells/reindeer/sleigh bells nonsense at you.

This is my plan for next Nov - Dec - Jan - Feb if our health has improved.

((( Saturnalia! ))) I don't think anyone would want to swap places with me at the moment.! lol.:D

Hope you are fit and well soon - but in the meantime, you can still do the eat, drink and be merry bit that the Romans passed down to us!
