Hi, I have fitted a car radio in the habitation area of my van and am wondering if I can connect it up to the existing TV aerial or would it be better to run a car aerial up behind the sealing strip around the door? Any advice welcomed, thanks.

Yes you could give it a try.

Just try a temporary connection to see how it works if its ok job done. If not a ariel for car radio outside van would be my choice

Hi, do you have a Vision Plus booster? Most motorhomes have this system. It has a port for a radio aerial connection as well as your TV.

Well, I'll be jiggered. I hadn't noticed that connection on there. I guess that the question is officially answered thank you. :)

Why is it so big that sound dont go all the way back, extra speakers may solve this.

A lot of modern vehicles will only let the radio play for 20 to 30 minutes without the engine running, my daily work van only lets me have 20 minutes then I have to run the engine for another 10 mins.

Take the feed wire to the les batterys ,prob solved.
Bit like being scared of having a puncture so ask the sales man to have a extra wheel fitted.:lol-049:

My car won't let it stay on very long at all, if I press the on button for the radio it comes back on though with engine off. Have you tried that?

radio in my iveco van would only work with the engine on. previous owner had fudged the wiring.... its now on a live feed so dont even need the ignition key. the ariel doesnt do anything either , but it seems perfectly happy with about 2 foot of wire stuffed in the socket and hanging in the depths behind the dash.

years ago you could buy a small splitter box to plug into tv ariel to give a radio feed , also ones to fit cb ariel feed, may still have one of those in the depths of the shed.
