Hi all, I still have the fault on my fuel gauge showing empty and reserve light flashing. I have tried filling the tank and have drove 100 miles over some bumpy roads and no joy?
I have just had an mot and oil change and they could not see any obvious loose wires but they do not have the diagnostic equipment.
Could it just need the memory resetting?
Does anyone know any garages or mobile technicians with diagnostic equipment that may be able to help without the dealer price tag?
Many thanks
Lotty

it coud be the sender unit in the fuel tank at fault ,if you can get to the wires on the sender unit check to see that the earth is ok, if so remove the live wire and try to earth it somewhare .at the same time get someone to watch the fuel gauge to see if it rises toward the full if so it is the sender unit in the tank at fault

Las time I had this problem it was a bad earth on the sender unit

ANd take a big ugly bloke to the garage with you or you'll find you'll need a new tank, fuel pump and carburettor and 2 week's worth of labour. Plus vat.
