Hi all,

We are filming at Inn On the Lake at Ullswater on Sunday so will stay over in the van, we wont be finishing until about 9pm so just need a spot for the night.

Thanks in advance :)

I have stopped at CR Dockray & CR Dowthaite approx 15 minutes from the Inn on lake. Also the Sun Inn in Pooley Bridge allows you to use their carpark as long as you buy a meal or drink, phone no. Is in the PO's.

Ullswater

We were there last weekend, lots of places all along the shore towards glennridding..

take the road around the lake through Howtown and up towards Hallin Fell there's several parking area's near St Peter's church ,Martindale I've never seen any signs there forbidding overnighting etc and well worth the easy trek up to the fell itself for a great view over the lake, especially early morning.

Narrow road

Hi full timer did you take yr camper van up there? as we went around lake towards the church last week but thought the road was a bit narrow, it was late at night so we were a bit worried we,d not be able to turn around if we came to a dead end lol

Thanks everyone - we stayed on the NT Aira Force carpark, we were up early and did the walk to the waterfall and Gowbarrow fell in the morning before anybody else arrived but there were plenty of cars and NT people when we returned at about 10am.

No we didn't I was in a Nissan Navara 4x4 would have been a bit tight with our truck based camper but should be OK with smaller ones say Transit or T5 size,

I have just been there in my 6m coachbuilt - no problem at all. Just take it slowly along the sections with passing places ...

Lovely places to overnight at Martindale with great views, and great walking :D

Nice one certainly is a great spot and the views from Hallin Fell are beyond belief especially when you have fighter planes fyling below you and you can wave to the pilot . I had no problem in the Navara but think I would be pushing it in the truck at just over 8m not so much the width of the road but the sharp bends , which were fun in the Navara at minus 15 and a snow covering.
