Can anyone advise on selling their campervan to an online dealer?

I have to sell my van and have looked at both 'webuyanymotorcaravan.com' and 'buymymotorhome.com'. Does anyone have any experience of these companies please?

We took our last van away to Scotland for its last trip much lighter because of an agreed price quoted by an online company thinking we’d be leaving it in England.

On the run back down to the ferry, they phoned to say they’d over quoted by 4 grand - I told them to stuff it and sold it easily back on the island for the extra 4 grand !

Sold our first van to a dealer, we needed it gone quickly they paid us just above lowest trade price, not going to sell a van to a dealer again unless it's a part exchange.

The way campervans, motorhomes and caravans are selling at the moment it will sell quickly for a better price privately, maybe use these sites to get an idea on price then add a couple of grand and sell privately

We tried one of those (can't remember which). They sent a chap out to value the van and he made a very low offer.

The van did have damp issues which we had told him about but even so was worth more than he was offering. He was very hard to get rid of when we said a final "No" he even went to the extent of begging us not to sleep in the van ever again because the spores would kill us.

Crackers to even think about selling this way right now. its a sellers market. Just put up an honest ad and I suspect you will sell it quickly.

The cost of a convenient quick sale is the lower price. I'd sell private.

I agree with Edina, join as a full member and advertise on here. You could probably advertise your MH on Gumtree , facebook, and it would go like hot cakes at the moment.

You do get some scammers on Gumtree sometimes, I advertised an expensive bike two years ago, I stated collection only, I got this guy claiming he was abroad in the Army and could I send the bike to a certain UK address. He would send 50% of the money and 50% when he received it and eyeballed it. Sod off was my reply . Cash on collection OR bank transfer for the full amount , then I will send it via courier. I heard nothing more.
