Campingaz Regulator Type 716 29 mbar

My regulator rattles when I shake it, like there's a hard pea inside! Is this supposed to do this? I know some of the Campingaz regulators have a safety valve to limit gas escapes should the hose fail or the appliance is disconnected with the regulator tap open. Is the rattle noise the safety valve?

Also have I been sold (ebay) an up to date regulator - it's made by a company called Continental, is for Butane and rated at 29 mbar and quotes an EN 12864 'Approved' label.

yes , at least mine is like that

new euro standard is 30Mb for both butane and propane , I use 27 , 30 , 35 and 50 Mb , all work fine , so don't worry about it ; when you say it is for butane , do you mean it has the left hand thread for a calor 4.5Kg dumpy butane ? this thread is used over most of europe for both butane and propane

Continental is a major german company ; they probably flogged off anything not marked 30Mb
