Hi all, this is my first post on this forum, where I have been lurking for a few weeks. đź‘‹
We are soon going to Spain and for the first time we expect to run out of gas. Our usual cylinder of choice is Campingaz 907, although for the UK we are contemplating moving to 4.5Kg Calor. We have a very compact vehicle so it isn't easy.

The question I have is about the current price of 907s in Spain. Can anyone who is there at the moment confirm that, 're-fills' are easy to obtain and also tell me the current prices?
If they are as crazily expensive as they have become in the UK (ÂŁ40) then we might push ahead and take a 4.5Kg Calor with a 907 as a reserve (plus regulator).

Thank you

Sorry I can't answer your specific question but can say that refillable lpg is around 90 cents a litre , price nearly doubled in 5 years so I would be surprised if other types are cheap at the moment. On the plus side plenty of refillable around Alicante, Murcia.

anytime we are in Spain we bring all our empty 907 bottles to refill in Spain. It has always been cheaper on Spain, and readily available. We go to a hardware shop to refill, and I think that he refills them himself from a big tank, but it has normally been half the price compared to the uk. We have not been recently,so do not know how the price compares now since the fuel crisis.

Do you mean that you exchange the cylinder for a full one or that 'hardware man' takes yours into the back and refills whilst you wait? I think you mean the former...
This may cause rapid inhaling of breath but, I fill my own 907s from a donor bottle. We always carry two when off to Spain but have never run out yet.
Not from me - it's a good idea and one that I have been thinking about. There will be kits readily available I'm sure.

Have you a route in mind Peaklander? We are going at the start of March via chunnel.

start of March
Hmmm - in May perhaps?

This will be our third trip there. We are going ferry to Santander. We mainly wander around the interior. This time heading to the southwest (Seville) and then probably turning east to the Alpujarras (have been there before and the dried figs are great).
Previously we went Bilbao towards Madrid, west to Extramadura and then on to Portugal coast. North to mountains (hills) in NE Portugal and finally La Coruna
Second trip was Bilbao south to Andalucia and then a little way east to Cabo de Gata before going north and into the Pyrenees for the Falles.

If I may suggest, whilst near Seville, pay a visit to Cordoba. I dont think you will be disappointed.
We do a lazy drive down to our place that is in the interior in AndalucĂa. Cant wait now as its been a while. If you need info on filling a 907 just let me know. (y)
