I'm on the lookout for a toaster to go on top of a gas ring. I expect that this has been done more than once, but thought I'd ask in case there are any new thoughts on the subject.
I've read that the Primus folding toaster is very popular, any others?

I remember a discussion about this from a few years back, but I think the thread may have vanished now?

Juts tried a few searches but no luck.

There will be someone along to make suggestions - we don't have a hob top toaster, so I can't advise, sorry! :)

We use a medium sized nonstick frying pan.
Works and saves on clutter.
We also keep a stock of frozen paratha. As a very nice alternative !
They are best cooked in said frying pan !
Frypan also good for garlic bread !

Had a quick reccie over on motorhomer, but they all seem to use regular plug-in electric toasters. 🤷‍♀️

Maybe because quite a few members on the sister site don't do much wildcamping? ;)

Shame the threads discussing this bit of kit have gone.

I bought a folding one from one of the motorhome shows years ago, don't remember what make it is, works really well one slice at a time.

I have one of the folding types which sits around the gas ring, I have not used it as yet but im told they are useless, think at a few bucks I shall give it a go

Thanks for the replies, I'm hopeless without some toast to get me going so am constantly on the lookout for a device to make good toast on my gas camping stove.
This one seems to get the best reviews

That one got slated in the reviews, Trev.
Considered pretty useless all round (n)

The best bits of kit - according to other members - appear to be cookware like the Ridge Monkey and the Cadac stuff.
They can also do toast. I own neither.

All I know is that they are too expensive for me, but should be worth it if you spend lots of time cooking in your moho?

We used one of these when, we were tenting it.... Worked great THOUGH cooking on a Coleman suitcase petrol cooker was miles ahead compared to your average motorhome cooker.

Our toaster is similar to this , Simple and very effective , just place it on the hob burner and hey presto 2 slices of toast in no time ours cost about £3 when we bought ours and I bought another in Spain for 1 Euro in a Chinese Todo shop as a spare , we can also make toast under our grill in the van but this flat metal toaster works so well that at it is all we use, great for toasted buns too,

Thanks, that design seems to get good reviews. Looks like that particular one is £17 on ebay but I get the idea so will keep a look out for a £3 or even a ,€1 one!
I also have a grill on my Tilley Titan stove but the grill is only so-so for toast. It has 2 burners, so I thought I'd try coffee on one & toast on the other.
