Anywhere along the Brittany coast

Biscarosse is a lovely spot (look for Navarosse port), out of season you can park right by the freshwater lake, in season there's an aire or campsite. The lake is fab for swimming coz it's only waist deep up to 100m out, then it's very deep for sailing/skiiers etc. Restaurants/shops in town. It's just like being in the Caribbean except there's pine trees not palms; Just south of Archachon on the Landes coast

Sorry but be careful, last July the police were handing out tickets in this location.( Although it is a nice spot)

There is a free aire riverside in Limeuil (|dordogne)which is riverside and useful for renting canoes.
