I believe it is butane.
Some cartridges have a butane/propane mix.

Camping-gaz surely is butane.
A propane mix is only used in some cartidges for the Nordic countries in winter.

Its Butane.
I took mine out and fitted Calor Propane as we will use it in winter and its vastly cheaper. ( in case you dont know Butane will freeze on a good cold day about 4 degrees I thought but dont quote me, basically it wont come out of the cylinder, propane will work fine at very low temps)
I belive the Gaz stuff is easier to get in Erope but I have heard mixed reports?
I had a faulty cylinder once and just got passed about and vowed never to use them again, but Calors cheaper and I am tight so its Calor propane for me
