We have a 4.5 Calor Gas and a 907 Camping Gaz cylinder and intend to spend 3/4 months in Portugal this winter, when we find somewhere we like we'll stay for 3/4 weeks and have an electric hook up which means we'll use our 2 ring electric hob but the rest of the time we're hoping to rely on the solar panel etc and gas for cooking but not for the fridge or the heating. We have a 2 hob gas burner so normally our 4.5 bottle lasts a while.
We don't have space for a larger cylinder than the 4.5.
I know that you can't buy Calor Gas abroad but the camping Gaz site shows lots of retailers in Portugal for Camping Gaz, but I've read somewhere that the Portuguese won't EXCHANGE the 'British' 907 cylinders for some reason, does anyone know if this is right please?
