4ft beachball - not sure why this essential but if I ever forget to pack it i'm gutted
duct tape - many uses, esepc when driving a 30 odd year van to tie down the various bits that sometimes fall off, and also for emergancy fixes of that awning, or tent, or waterproofs, or curtain rail
