Saw this notice at Burry Port (Carmarthenshire) harbour car park; how would members interpret the wording? Am I right in thinking that overnight camping in a campervan is ok? :D

If, as most of us are, you are registered with the DVLA as a motorcaravan, then sign does not apply:D:D

Sorry Guys

Motor Caravans are still CARAVANS.

The Caravan Sites and Control of Development Act 1960
Defines what is considered to be a caravan.
29. - (l) In this Part of this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,
"caravan" means any structure designed or adapted for human habitation which is capable of being moved from one place to another (whether by being towed, or by being transported on a motor vehicle or trailer) and any motor vehicle so designed or adapted.

hi, a motor home is a car. its category is m1.thats a car with a special body . a car is m. under eu. law if the sign does not say cars then you could stop. of course the next thing is have the local authority applied for permission to ban sleeping in cars.
i am a believer we can disregard the caravan act as it as been superceded by eu law. ther is also a get out for caravans as there is a ruling that allows one night stops. it as been to eu courts about the spanish moving campers etc .they have issued a letter to all guardia etc and its now in the public domain. there is leters involving this breach of eu ruling being discussed at eu level at the moment . as and when i get more confermation i will post info.
cheers alan
