Camper conversion electrical issue

Hi
I have a campervan conversion for two year and had the usual teething problem but now the Batteries according to multimeter are at 12.9 volts, this was checked after dark as I have solar and few hours after everything was turned off. My control panel will show lower voltage reading than what the charger does at the back of the van and switching appliances on drops the voltage dramatically and if I turn too many on it goes off completely, the fridge even when turned on will not work as there isn’t enough voltage to start, any ideas on what the problem is as everything points toward the battery’s but they are fine, plugged in they still won’t work but with the van running it will . I have changed the switch relay but that didn’t work, I have checked all wiring to my knowledge and checked earth to the van.

With the van running the split charge is providing power to run things, it does sound like a duff battery. Possibly try jump leads to the the leisure battery, if that works then your wiring is all right and it confirms that the battery is duff

Thanks for you replies , would hook up not bypass the batteries therefore it should work when hook up? Or does that only charge the batteries and power the 240v system if I use it ?

If you have a garage nearby, take your battery in for a load test. This will prove if your battery has failed or not. How old is your battery. I always feel that if your battery is more than three years old I would suspect that first. If your battery proves to be OK, then you have a problem to resolve.

Hi,
Approximately what area are you in?
