For those of you who have stated that they never want to stay on a campsite, mentioning rows of white Van's and rules being the reason, I thought I would show you my recent stay.
It was an affiliated site of a well known club. The place was by the river and just to the side of the south downs way. 20200912_174845.jpg20200910_185937.jpg20200910_092638.jpg

That's my sort of campsite.

I don't mind campsites. I just don't like people! Unfortunately the two usually go together, that is the primary reason we wild camp.

We have just toured the lake district and North Wales for two and a half weeks down to Aberystwth then the Elan Valley and did the same when we needed to empty and fill up with fresh water, normally every third day, the most we paid was £16/night and that was near Keswick.

We stopped on a site in Derbyshire. Hill Top Farm, Bank Holiday weekend. Arrived and no one there. No other Caravans or Motorhomes so we sorted ourselves out, had meal in the evening and still no one around. Took dog for a quick walk and boy was it dark. Still no lights on in the Farmhouse. Saturday we wandered off and walked down into Dovedale and back. Still no sign of anyone. Sunday morning I saw a Landrover coming up the lane so walked over and waited for him at the farm. He had only come to check the livestock and makes use everything was as it should be. No idea about the CL site. So we stayed till Monday lunchtime. Walked upto the farm and tied a bag round the door handle with 3 nights campsite fees :)
