Cameron McNeish on £40 voluntary charge, and two island visits.

As usual wise words from a man who knows his stuff.
Cameron certainly puts his views forward in an honest and constructive manner, unlike those who see us as freeloaders, who dump our waste by the roadside whilst sticking two fingers up to local communities who live were we want to visit. As Cameron states times have changed, the days of a family taking their caravan to a campsite and spending a week or a fortnight there are over. If these wingers ever succeeded in stopping us from enjoying what most of us do responsibly, it would not lead to a greater demand for the services they wish to force upon us. As Cameron states what’s required from them is a more progressive way of sustaining their businesses, by instead of telling us what they want to offer us, offer us what we require.

Our needs are basic, a place to stop, chemical waste and freshwater.

Absolutely correct.
No idea why but CM often annoys me . On this occasion he has got it bang on

He did highlight the amount of large motorhomes parked in the public carpark right next to the £10 a night designated stop over with only 2 vans in it. The majority are now spoiling it for the minority🤣.

I am now leaning towards paying this, not because I wholeheartedly agree with paying for facilities that everyone else will be able to use, or because I feel pressured into doing so, but because I don’t want it to fail. If it fails those who complain about us will have another reason (as they see it) to hammer us with. Also if it’s successful it puts us in a good light, questioning much of the hyperbole which follows us. I don’t even know if I will even use what’s on offer, but it’s important that this scheme is seen as a success, and as Cameron says others me follow suit. What is significant here is the attitude of highland council, which is entirely laudable. And they are not alone in Scotland, I was most impressed when visiting Girvan, and Ballantrae in Ayrshire seeing what Ayrshire council are doing.

Just had a look Terry and I have to go there now!

I see the pub is up for sale for £180,000.
I took Beas folks there when her dad was alive, they were mesmerised by the surrounding beauty of Easdale, they also loved going over the Atlantic Bridge. First time I was there, which was many years ago, we dived the flooded quarry you see in the McNeish clip, near to the scree slop, it was deep @ 50+ metres, it was dark, and even with a drysuit on, it was cold. You need to go Rob, you will not be disappointed, and if you buy the Puffer, I'll pop up for a pint or three!!

I found this for you, Rob. Save you a trip up before buying, now go get your cheque book :ROFLMAO:
