Help req please for the first time am traveling down on my own (no wife shes flying down a week later ) time not an issue so instead of just jumping on toll roads for speed and time am looking to see more and also save cash on tolls so please suggested routes would be much appreciated am goint santa sussana/malgrat

Try Poole to Cherbourg, then a nice meander down the West coast of France.

Brittany is well worth the visit - even if its just to drive through.

Turn left at the Pyrenees and choose one of the smaller Col's to go over into Spain.

Hi, I am doing this trip, Leaving Calais Sunday morning.
The reasons is the cash difference, as mentioned, in the other topic Ferry v long drive.
I have to go via Laval to visit people before heading south, but your best route would be.
Calais –Abbeville-Rouen-orleans-Limoges-Cahors ( Best Saturday farmers market in France) –Foix Spain. Both Cahors & Foix have free Aires & are well worth a visit. For much of this route you run parallel to the toll road, but you have more interesting scenery.

Bon Journey Dezi

thanks

cheers for that am setting off 7ish sunday night dover sailing . Overnighting at calais aire , then stock up cheese wine etc & then off south bless me lets hope its less windy n raining !
