buying European maps for satnav systems

I was wondering if anyone has bought additional maps for their satnavs.
We have a Navman S50 3D.
On the Navman official site they are over £50. :eek:
I have seen amazon selling W. Europe map for £12+ and under £8 at ebay.

Just wondering if anyone has bought additional maps not from the maufacturer and whether they worked.
