Fitted new Cello 24" 12v TV and new status 580 aerial.

We seemed to have struggled for a decent TV signal over the last few times we were away (pre lockdown) and came to the conclusion the previous (original to the 2004 motorhome) was perhaps a bit tired.
(To be fair we only really watched stuff in the darker winter months when it goes dark early....)
New one arrived this morning and now fitted ready for us hopefully heading off on Friday for 2 weeks....

Went for the long mast version so it'll push up from the roof by a meter or so... Booster unit also has a 3 way colour change led signal strength meter for easier tuning....
Even parked on the street outside home it's now found 180 or so channels rather than the 40 or so it managed in same spot before.....

Happy days.... Just need to test it properly now.

We have the same aerial and I find it excellent.
Sometimes in rural areas up here we use it in vertical mode to pick up a local transmitter.
The only thing I don't understand is sometimes we get a clear green light but poor reception.
Whilst elsewhere we get an orange light but a better reception.
The largest amount of channels we have ever achieved is 260.
Sometimes you may also find that you get better reception on non HD channels.
But strangely I have found on rare occasions that the HD channels are better than normal channels.

Sounds promising....
Have you tried turning the gain down on the amplifier when it's green and no signal? Possibly a over strong signal as daft as it sounds.

Happy with the improved reception already AND having freeview/deezer/netflix/prime video etc etc when we're away in the winter is going to be excellent too.

To be honest no I have not, I never thought of that.:(
I will try out your suggestion.
Be careful to remember lowering it back down, particularly with the large pole.
We spoke to a guy last month who did £1500 worth of damage when he forgot to lower it and went under a low bridge.
I have it on my checklist. Sometimes you don't need the pole, you get good reception with no elevation.
But you will find the vertical setting excellent in rural areas with local transmitters.
When we go to Loch Carron you get nothing on horizontal, but 32 good channels on vertical.
The new telly sounds great, enjoy your winter travels.

Good advice.... Cheers

Yup we are heading off on Friday for 2 weeks....

Going to be strange to be honest as we have only managed 3 weekends away since restrictions eased and didn't go anywhere over Covid and during my late dad's illness just prior to covid kicking off....

First test for new solar panel/batteries/ring rscdc30 charge controller/B2B unit too.....

Sorry to hear about your Dad.
I hope you and your wife have a great trip, hope the weather is kind to you.
We are heading to Northumberland next month for a week, lovely part of England.
Enjoy the new toys and the Telly.
