Busy bodies!

You're right, definitely 'busy bodies'.

Good on Kent County Council !!! (y)

Damn nimbies. Some folk are just so sad and miserable 😝

The motorhome is way more attractive/interesting than the boring ten-a-penny "Ashford International Hotel".
International? Really? I seriously doubt whether any of the people staying at the hotel have complained about the motorhome.
It's not exactly your upmarket "country house hotel" 😂

Wouldn't mind betting the motorhome has maybe been a lot more 'international' during its life than the hotel has. 😜

The pensioner complaining from his sheltered housing is probably just jealous, or more likely has nothing better to occupy his boring daily life.
You can't even see the motorhome from the sheltered housing as it's parked some way down from it just off a busy dual carriageway.
It appears to be behind some allotments and is screened by trees.

You see, this is what happens when you can't sleep at night - you end up checking all the facts on Google! 🙃🤪

The positive from this story, is that comments from locals show overwhelming support for the vans owner. Do the curtain twitchers think they are safe from ending up in a similar situation....it could happen to anyone.

It’s not the worst thing to look out on, and from a distance at that!! I can’t believe some people, such sad lives they must lead. I don’t know why he’d want to park there long term anyway. Think I’d consider moving it now attention has been drawn to the fact he’s got a little grey car he uses, and it’s a fulltimer, ripe pickings for local scum.

There was a motor home parked for at least ten months in a layby on A12, it was quite odd when it suddenly disappeared after lockdown,as I got used to checking for it when driving that way. Don't think anybody ever complained about it.

The article claims that there are no signs prohibiting overnight parking.
What’s the betting that there b****y well will be soon!

Hope not. I think the response from the council was good and fair. My money is betting they have better things to worry about just now than some motorhome parked in a non-obstructive and legal way causing no harm to anyone.

It's not as if it's blocking anyone's right to a 'scenic view' now, is it?! ;)

No, quite agree about the councils response, but when these busy bodies get their teeth into something, they don’t normally let go. That motorhome is very similar to the Winnebago Itasca that we used to have, many years ago, they are not the easiest of things to find somewhere to park in any case, I hope this doesn’t turn into an issue for him.

Got a large caravan moves around a bit here parks for months at a time though - only reason i recognize it is it is too big to miss - but it is always parked in full view - even pictured on streetview - respectful of surroundings i presume - and the police station is just around the corner - not outside someone's house either which causes a lot of problems

Have known many a similar thing with people I know up here, but just involving normal streets/housing estates etc.

One individual in particular had constant complaints, but nothing police/council can do - or even want to!

As long as vehicles are MOT'd, taxed and insured, legally parked and not causing an obstruction the 'authorities' generally leave well alone.

This particular spot is directly opposite a 'utility' hotel on a busy dual carriage way, next to a retail park with a supermarket on it.

Hardly an attractive seafront or scenic Lakeland location, so I'm still willing to bet the council won't do anything to move it on - and quite right too! 😝(y)

There is a motorhome permanently parked up in a set back parking spot on one of the feeder roads going into our local Costco.

It's been there for a least 2 years, nobody is bothered one jot about it as far as I know. Well, it's still there at any rate!

There's a few more parked up in off road locations all the way along the riverbank when you're driving to the same Costco.
Obvious that one or two are lived in. It's mostly an industrial/retail area, they're no bother to anyone.
