I have seen a newer van and the Dealer will give mine the once over this afternoon. The offer will be typically low but as I know the history of the new van, I would like to get it.

So, if anyone is thinking of getting a Tag Axle van (7 berth officially) that has given 5 years trouble free motorhoming then it will be at a very good price as I would not want to lose the new van. I will sell at a little above the part ex offer. It is a Burstner 747-2 Active with rear fixed bed (typical continental layout), double dinette, huge amount of storage (1250kg) payload and is fully winterised with Alde wet central heating.

Only serious offers please as it will mean me buying the new van before recouping the cost of the old one.

It is similar to the example in the link and this Ad gives a lot of details (although there may be a difference in accessories fitted etc.)

You are so sharp you will cut yourself. :p

I have done the deal, part exed my lovely Burstner for a ........ err, another Burstner. This time a Delphin T821. We meant to downsize from a tag axle but finished up with another tag axle. But it is 18 inches shorter, so that counts as a downsize. :p

That's not downsizing. That's just washing the flies off the front .... This is downsizing .. :lol-061:

At the first dealership we went to, the wife went into a van conversion. The look on her face was a picture when she stepped out. We have just been spoiled by having the big'un (I mean no disrespect to anyone with a van conversion BTW ..... well, except for Dezi :p).

It all happened so fast. Anybody want to buy a pair of windscreen wiper blades and an air filter for a Ducato? :raofl:

Well at least you know what you are letting yourself in for. No dead ends. No narrow country lanes as you cannot reverse it more than a couple of meters. We meet one in Cornwall the other year. He had been told the caravan site should have cut the hedge back by the time he arrived. They hadn't and he had decided he didn't want any more scrapping down the side so he was trying to reverse back up the lane with clouds of smoke coming from underneath. He was having all sorts of fun trying to keep it out of the hedges. We hung around for a bit but we couldn't help so we checked out a field. Opened the gate went in turned round and off again.

Sound like you must have had .. Sell me something ANYTHING .. written all over your forehead

I just love customers like that and NO I don't sell MH's

It is not that we would buy any van, it is just how it works with us.

I had an Elddis Autoquest and was looking to sell. Discover Leisure did a Hab check and Service for me (and a pitifully low offer to buy the van). A few days later I went back because they had not filled in the engine service details in the book ...... and there she was ...... the big Burstner. It had been transferred from Darlington as they had it nearly 2 years without a buyer. It was poorly presented and had a few little cosmetic faults but we got a very good deal. Now, after 5 years of trouble free use, we are losing an old friend.

This new van is similar to a Hobby 750, lowline and well laid out. If we had seen a 750 in decent nick, I would have bought it on the spot, irrespective of price, trade in etc. ...... lovely vans. ;) Anyway, we liked this one and I went on Motorhomefacts last night and asked if this van had belonged to a member. It had not but it belonged to someone who lived over the road to a member and I got the lowdown on it. :king: So, I know that I am getting a low mileage, carefully looked after one owner van. These things are just meant to happen. :p
