Some of our southern members may never have heard of perthshire caravans,
but I'm sure most scottish members know of them.
Well the whole bussiness burned down last night
there must have been millions of pounds worth of new campers and caravans lost. what a crying shame!

The Courier: Taking you to the heart of Tayside and Fife

Oh dear!!!...I was involved with a garage torched in the Bradford riots. A different scenario I grant you.

My heart truly goes out for these people...it affects so many, customers whos vans were in for service. They will have lost their vans and personal effects.

I feel sorry for the business too, Insurance will put them back to the stage before the loss...It wont compensate for lost takings.... More important is the emotional loss and pain suffered by the staff Management and customers of this establishment.

I really feel for them

What a disaster! I used Perthshire Caravans a few years ago when my water pump packed in. They found a replacement seal kit for me under the mountain of spares that they stocked, what a crying shame for this to happen to nice, friendly, helpfull people.

lets hope that they are well insured if only for any customers vans they may have in for work on them

That's a real shame, but according to the Courier, it looks like the Fire Brigade have limited the damage to the workshop with some damage to the Reception area.
Knowing how large the area is and how many MHs' and Caravans are parked there it could have been much much worse.
No consolation however and I hope they are back in business soon.

I wonder if they had any grievances with recent customers?
I bet the Police will be asking them that as well.

Funnily enough I got a water pump there on my way up to Aberdeen. Got good advice and great service from the shop although there have been bad posts about aftersales service. However, say as you see and I saw only good. Commiserations to all affected.

I too am sorry but was the workshop a standalone building at the back, and most of the used stock was at the mainroad side with the new m/homes at the entrance on the right,I suppose it would have been the rollerteams that got heat damage as they would be next to the affected area.

I was down at errol today and all the stuff in the main showroom is still there-all the ceravans and m/homes are damaged, the entire shop is badly damaged-we spoke to a salesman and he said the assessor has been and figures are being discussed and assured the damaged stock will be for sale through the insurance company but they would in middlemen if reqd, but even when you arrive there and get out of the motor the smell hits you, what will the stuff inside be like-will you manage to get rid of the smell?
