Left the Peugeot car with it's complete new set of Firestone tyres with our mechanic so he could service it and take it for it's MOT. It passed with just headlight adjustment needed and an advisory on the ball joints. The car was with the mechanic for 5 days whilst Iz and I pootled around Yorkland where we had a great time. I dropped Izzy off and she drove the car back home, "it is running much better" she said.
The car was parked outside our house for about an hour before Izzy drove it to yoga class, except, she only got a couple of hundred yards down the road before a horrible crunching sound started. I decided to slowly drive it back onto our drive because Izzy had left it on an awkward bend.
Rang the AA this morning and he found the suspension spring had snapped, bad enough, but the bummer was, it had gouged into one of the brand new tyres!

Could have been worse, at least it didn't happen on the motorway coming back home and I guess the bill will be a lot less than Camperfanny's MOT.:)

Front coil springs snapping was a common fault on berlingos etc...
So much so Peugeot fitted a cup affair to the lower strut to stop it penetrating the inner tyre wall after a recall.
