If anybody is seriously interested in *buying* it I have the e-Mail address of the seller. However - it surely makes a conversation piece alongside the "Garbage Truck" conversion!

have yo seen me in my moroccan djelaba. i have one just like them .i have travelled tunisia quite alot salamalikum. i,m known as alibaba grand djelaba over there . i have picked up quite abit of arabic. usefull for buying things in birmingham and places like that. ha ha .have you been down there its really very friendly. tunisia is abit cold in winter . a trip for the future is tunisia ,libya and egypt, winter in the sinia desert.bit difficult at moment as we have to pay for a guide /escort through libya. will be ok soon i hope. after all this is wild campimng for motor homes isnt it. cheers alan.

i have a teardrop here .used it behind the trikes . dont think the one with the goldfish bowl is much cop for sexual encounters bit tight in there.

My friend is thinking of 'vanning' his reliant robin for cheap accomodation while he lives away from home on a course he has to attend

thats the way ,will be cold though this time of year, . the answer to wild camping is hardly any windows and lok like something else. stealth van/trucking.more busy the town easier to park .park in the country some one complains .in a city every one is too busy.to care.

I;m sure he'd not mind me calling him money-sensitive, although he'd rather spend his cash on his bikes or any number of other diversions,
he lives in ireland right out in the sticks of Mayo,
he needs to attend some course in the bright lights of Dublin, but resents paying for a hostel or such, so hit on the idea of the pig'

some rudimentary measuring confirms its long enough & he can get a work surface for some cooking alongside,

if it comes off I'll get him to send me some images

Yup I remember it, passed me on the moors one day :)
I'm the test rider for Wackeys Trikes in Okehampton :D
Everything from a Virago 535cc to a Rocket 3> 2,300cc triked
I've rode them all..........
Just having a BMW K75RT transformed to Trike for my personal use :)

i lived in a vw camper while doing a hgv maintenance course in plymouth . well a van with no windows its the way .save a shilling here and there. all mounts up. i winter away most years try not to use sites i,m just mean ,tight call it what you like. have a bongo tintop with a landrover roof tent on top works well abroad dont pay for a tent if its on your roof . they are common abroad. have just about tried all sorts of camping ,got more tents here than milletts , tear drop ,5er, bongo. even a m,bike trailer madefrom a squire sidecar off a jawa makes a single sleep pod when off on the bike. had folding caravans etc must be abit looney but happy . still got my first tent from being a child ,my kids used it now grand kids use it in the garden. teach em young it will help them when they get older . cheers alan.

well its a small world. i dont have a trike at the moment .have one under construction, may finish it. still have the mould for our fibreglassversion. also a fewaluminium tanks for across the vw gear box .and afew stainless buggy systems for exhausts. also 4 205 x 15 tyres new old stock. ride a 1500 drifter ,a suzuki tu 250 grass tracker n 2 dax not at the same time. ha ha. its like a car/bike managery at my place. only live just down the road from bnh motor cycles do you know howard? evey body knows me round here ,most think i,m mad. ha ha ,i am. cheers alan.

Reliant van

My friend is thinking of 'vanning' his reliant robin for cheap accomodation while he lives away from home on a course he has to attend

I've done this so can offer some pointers. I had the "Estate" version so it was easier.

Take out the front passenger seat. Remove the bench seat pad. Fold down the bench seating, This gives you a surprising amount of length into the front footwell area. Construct a box support and fix into seat mountings - on the top of that goes a board that stretches from the folded down bench seat edge into the footwell area - from memory about a yard long and tapering at the front. This gives you your sleeping area. Storage then at the extreme front of the footwell area under the board AND in the box upon which the board locates.

In the back on the offside you can pick up on the chassis rail and securely mount a box which houses a camping stove and pots and pans. If you're super-paranoid or likely to be careless remember that Reliant threewheelers go up in flames in seconds. I say securely because a friend rolled his and got a toolbox in the back of the head.

Instead of curtains at the back I simply cut hardboard precisely to shape which pressed into position - needed a spoon to prise them out they were that good!

happy days ,,,,,

Regards,

Mild Red
