Hi
I have just had notification that BF are again raising my subscription to £95 to improve their service and buy new ships!!
The benefits of being a member now are much reduced from what they were 2 years ago.
I have seen no improvements. The food is still expensive and always cold, I don’t want reduced wifi or cinema tickets nor access to the gym!!
Is it really worth it any more for one, maybe 2 crossings per year?
Regards

If that is 4 ferry trips (2 crossings there and 2 return) then maybe. Do you have the pre 2021 scheme with the superior benefits?

You have the French sub. We have the Spanish sub which is £50 more on a pre 2021 scheme and for our size of motorhome well worth it.

We get a free or discounted day cabin on French sailings. A €25 food allowance on Spanish sailings. Half price full sailing wifi handy on Spanish sailings. 10% off food or bar spend if over €15 and discounts on certain duty free items which we use depending. A £600 Spanish crossing becomes £400. Cabin cost on top but no savings on this.

We have always found food to be OK and there is always a microwave available to warm it. We have never had to use it though. Yes would agree it is UK motorway service area type prices ɓut the French do have a higher minimum wage than the UK and the food is a bit more "cheffy" if you get my drift.

Hi
I have the pre 2021 French scheme but seriously wondering whether to ditch it.

Make a calculation and if you save more than £95 per year of membership then keep it.

If you give it up you will not get the pre 2021 benefits should you subsequently rejoin.

Must admit for the extra £50 for the Spanish membership you do get a lot more in overall savings and benefits because ferry fares are much higher and you have to have a cabin so you get the €25 food credit (=2 free breakfasts in the restaurant) which each way is almost £50 and that is if you only make a single return trip.

Downside is travelling across Bay of Biscay in winter months but we are now hardened to it!

Our membership has increased to £100 per annum ... Brittany Ferries need some competition on the route!

Don’t know about their membership subscription, but they are cheeky buggers. Charged me extra £20+ yesterday on Plymouth/Roscoff crossing.

Asked me why I had edited van dimensions after entering my reg number when booking a few weeks ago. Told them their dimensions for my van are wrong and I edited to enter correct dimensions.
I’ll see what happens.

Did you include the bike rack in the vehicle dimensions? We pay £15 each sailing for 'Rear mounted bike rack', and that price may well have risen recently. We were still charged £15 for the upcoming December crossing when we made the booking in late September ...
