Brittany advice

Hi all
We're in the Perigord Limousin area at the mo. We fancy a bit of coastline so are thinking of heading to Brittany before heading back to the UK via Caen in 10 days time.
We're not a fan of people nor towns. We've wild camped for the last month.
Any advice regarding Brittany would be great. Is wild camping possible there? I can't find many validated places on the POI map and looking at other apps we're getting the idea that it may be busy and restricted.

Hi, I assume you are aware of the wonderful provision of Aires that the whole of France provides for Moho's. Many villages/towns have them;invariably free unless they are near an attraction/ beach/landmark. Provide water, electric, waste disposal etc.
 
My experience of Brittany which is a fair bit is as above. There are more Aires there than any region of France and a lot more restrictions outside of those Aires along the coast at least. Inland wilding is a lot easier but we did discover a few wild spots even in hidden parts of the coast but there are some great Aires. Depending how long you have I would just work your way around the coast. You can't go wrong really. It gets more remote and more akin to the end of Cornwall the further west you get. Some nice places to visit inland also but the coast is fabulous.

Yes we're familiar with Aires and have been staying in them for the last month or so.
It's heartening to hear that Brittany has many and that there are good opportunities out there. I must look more closely at the maps!
 
I lived there for 7 years, no toll roads for a start and plenty of Aires , weather a bit like Cornwall but imho the best part of France by far. Haven’t been back for 15 years but it’s on my bucket list(y)

The lack of validated locations may be due to a relatively small number of users of the location app, which itself is relatively recent (unlike the underlying database). Even those who do use it to find locations appear not necessarily to validate or leave reviews. I would suggest using it in conjunction with https://www.campingcar-infos.com/view.php There are some superb locations on the south coast; have a look at those around Névez (the bourg being a bit inland and being where the service point is located, but the commune having a number of coastal locations where motorhome stays are limited to 24 hours per location). At this time of year, I would not expect Brittany to be too busy, except perhaps on sunny weekends.

Works for me. This is what I see. Windows 11 Pro Laptop, Google Chrome. I always found Google Chrome best with CC Infos as it auto translates French. Search for sites is much easier to navigate I think but CC Infos is likely to have spots the others wont have in France at least as its been going so long.

Two options:

1) Access it using a browser on a computer - no fee and no blurring.
2) If using a mobile device, pay for a subscription, approx €3 for 3 months, €10 for a year. If you have an Android device, you could try the Android app (search Play Store for Aires CCI), which has a two-week free trial period, but some have found it challenging because not quite all options have been translated from the French. Google Translate can be used within the Android app to translate individual text boxes of data.

Thanks for this. We made it to near Quiberon today and are going to check out the places below Nèvez. They look good. The plan is for a clockwise loop ending at the ferry in Caen next Friday. The weather needs to cheer up a bit! Grey, windy and rainy at mo, not very inspiring.

Quiberon is really lovely.. we always stay at the municipal site at Kerhostin .. its a really nice site overlooking the bay of Quiberon
 
if you're in morlaix Saturday there's a good food market and there WAS an aire up by the station or roscoff is nice
