I need to change the headlight lenses as both are marked due to age.I ve used the kits to polish and recoat them but after 12months they are back to as they were. The local peugeot dealer says ,they`re out of production(2003 compass avantgarde 200) .Anyone else had this problem ? ,and can you suggest where to get them. Also i`m looking at brighter bulbs any advise as to what i can change to that the alternator can cope with. Many thanks all, chris

For bulbs, I find the Osram nightbreaker silver (+100%) bulbs are excellent. They do more powerful ones, but these dont last long.
Same wattage as your existing bulbs, so no problems with wiring / alternator capacity.

Loads on ebay....
Just make sure you check they are correct for yours (right hand drive etc) as it's not uncommon for left hand drive ones to be offered.

If using H4 then you can go to either 90/100 or 90/130 night breakers halogen or zenon which are daz white LOL, make sure the fuses and relays are up to it.

As per previous posts, upgraded bulbs can make a big difference. I have used either Philips or Osram.
As far as polishing the headlghts, common problem with them discolouring with age and once you polish them, you remove the UV protective layer and it becomes an annual event (I need to get round to doing mine really).

if you wanted to replace them, I doubt very much that even if out of production they will not still be available as old new stock from various sources and other dealers . Also if Peugeot don't have them, you could try Citroen or Fiat.

Hi Mr CH,

Hope I'm not teaching anyone to suck eggs but once the headlights are polished, using a proper kit, they then need to be sealed using the correct 'stuff' or they will soon revert back to being cloudy.

As mentioned above, nightbreakers are a good upgrade.

Cheers

Due to being as dark as hell here in the country esp Donegal I have a lot of 100w zenon spots which is daz white in the deep dark night.

I used Turtle wax with sealer built in looked like new when I did it but didn't last long have you had better results with a sealer
