Brighouse Bay

We stayed on a small car park and turning area at Brighouse Bay. The car park has toilets that were left open all night. Its a fabulous little bay and there is a caravan site about 200 yds further down the coast, so access is good. There were no signs saying you could not stay over, and a couple of tents were pitched, and 1 other campervan was parked up as well.

the gps location is

N54 47 20.43 W04 07 28.37

Happy camping

Brighouse Bay is a wild camping site from 30 years ago. It was used so extensively by Gypsies and new age travellers that the area became trashed and the local authorities closed it down and made access impossible. It is a wonderful place and I look forward to visiting it again. Please dont leave any rubbish and hopefully it will remain open.
Just looked at the Google Map. The old site was to the left of the image and you could park almost on the beach itself.

Stopped at brighouse last night - travelled without the laptop so found it by chance, a delightful little bay which was empty of anybody else the whole time we were there even though there was a "caravan land" site just a bit up the road.... got fresh mussels for tea too!:)
