I wouldn't base the price comparison on the Motoring Assistance table - I don't know if it would be less than MA, but you can certainly get AA or RAC cover a lot less than the price they are stating as there are always discounts available on them.

Also, the cover on MA is for the vehicle, not the person. That could be an advantage if other people use your car, but if you are the only one, then breakdown cover for the person might be better? You would be covered in your car and any other you are driving or just travelling in. You might even be covered already with the breakdown cover on your camper? (I use the Nationwide account to get breakdown cover for my Motorhome, but being personal cover I am covered in any vehicle).

Not got any experience on MA so nothing good or bad to say on their actual service.

thank you folks.....think i have made a decision now.
staying with breakdown i have already....
.as pointed out by wildbus MA covers vehicle only.
plus i have no knowlege of MA.....so
better the one you know than the one you dont.

many thanks for your replies

The Which magazine don't recomend the AA or RAC both at the bottom of their list, best is and I've renewed with them is GEM look them up in reviews. Ive had experience with the rac ,having to wait for 4hours and finally leaving the car till the following day and getting it picked up ,when the clutch went,😡🤬 BE WARNED ,i didnt need breakdown for years paying every year ,but when i needed it they let me down.

Do they do Europe too? we stuck with BR as it gives us a very broad range of cover for either of us in any car anywhere up to 7.5t not that we need the last bit nowadays unless we're someone else's big van which is very unlikely.
