I'm currently with Green Flag for my 2012 Puegeot Elddiss Autoquest 100, Boxer 330 swb breakdown cover. My renewal is £263 which includes European cover. I will definitely be travelling to Republic of Ireland but mainland Europe almost definitely not. I find it a bit too stressful having a slight visual imparement. Any help on getting cost of cover dowm would be much appreciated.

May be worth checking your bank account benefits. Some accounts (mine is Natwest Black account) include free Breakdown Cover up to 3.5 tonnes, this also covers Europe.
Thanks I can upgrade my nationwide account for a monthly fee. I've looked at it before with regards travel insurance but the extra cost of that was prohibitive. I'll check it again for breakdown cover. Just think 263 is a bit hefty for one vehicle doing a moderate number of miles. Brittannia Rescue came in at £152 with Euro Cover.

Have a look at quidco deals, the cashback makes a difference. We get ours through coop bank account, which includes travel too. But we go to Europe...

Brittannia Rescue coming in at £152, anyone had experiences of them?
Yes, with them after leaving LV, and they are very good. I have an any driver policy, and they cover classics as well as campers / motorhomes.
Used them recently to recover my 70 year old landrover, and they were excellent.

Had to use them a couple of years ago policy through LV with our insurance, never again had email confirming cover in Serbia, service was shocking didn't cover us we had to keep ringing UK who told us we were covered then transferred us to a European call centre who said we weren't covered lots of calls backwards and forward to UK in the end the the place we were staying were really good and the owners got us sorted locally. We had previously been covered with ERS for about 10 years used them once it was very smooth no stress, they would be my preferred choice, not sure if you can only get them along side your insurance though.

They quoted £152 including Europe. To be honest probably only likely to do Ireland but still need euro cover for that. Motoring Assistance quoted £120 UK only. Either way both big savings on £263. Current cover runs out 27th so at least I will save some money. Happy days.

I`m with GEM because they`re recommended by the which magazine. Over the years i think i`ve been with all of them the last was rac, they let me down by not turning up when i first bought the corsa .4 hours i waited and rac vans were driving passed when i phoned a number of times the operator said ,he``ll be with you shortly.

We have just had our Saga renewal fully comp with European breakdown, got them down to £502.I don't think that is too bad, what does anyone else think?
