used my bread tray matts 1st time to day Not under my van but under neighbour's car wheel spinning on an icy incline Not effective at all Kept throwing backwards by the driving wheel like a flying matt. My question is How do you use yours, do you find them effective ? Or am I missing something!!!
Regards

yep i think you are, the idea is to park up on them to help you pull away on dodgy ground not to chuck under a moving wheel when you are already stuck:cool:

Yes, hard plastic on hard ice tends to be a bit like that.

This is a top-secret design feature introduced by the bread wholesalers to reduce "shrinkage" of their bread tray inventory.

Thanks Arthur

The Boss has very wisely decided that the personal touch is much nicer than just hitting a button.

You have already voted on this poll.

Phil has said that he is trying to set the new "thank you" button and still keep old the old "thank yous" but that it is proving harder to do than he thought it would be.

What I did with my bread trays is to "paint" the top with varnish. While the varnish was still wet I poured sand on them to give the smooth side some grip.
When you use them it is no use throwing them under a spinning wheel. You have to jack the vehicle up, place the mat, lower the vehicle and then drive off very carefully.
As Old Arthur suggests, you are supposed to stop on top of them

You were lucky that you were not using PSP. I saw some d******r do that when a Land Rover got set. The PSP came out like an arrow
