Under "Open/Closed", there is a comment that it is permanently closed, buildings having sprung up since.

I am not sure how up to date that link is. On the second page under open/ferme, the google translate states,

‘definitively closed buildings have sprouted since’

A review on another search site dated June 2019 indicated locals stating site was due to be developed soon.

For daytime at least, you might consider parking at the Bordeaux Lac retail park and using the nearby tram line. Not sure what the position would be re parking there overnight.
You could also try http://www.campingcar-infos.com/Francais/cci.php?numero=10370 ; the adjacent street is now one-way following installation of tram tracks. Streetview July 2019 shows a sign indicating free public parking 24/7.

When we were looking last year we struggled with Bordeaux centre and concluded that the easiest option was to either bus or train in, possibly based at Archachon, but the train timetable isn't great for late night use.

Allees de Chartres seems to be quite a central car park used by Motorhomes. Some staying overnight. Last time we were in Bordeaux was several years ago when we stayed at village du lac campsite. It was an ACSI site at the time, but had a bus service from the door. There did seem to be a more basic ability to park just inside their gates. Don’t know if it was an overflow or private Aire.

Streetview April 2019 shows a sign indicating that motorhomes are permitted in the Allées de Chartres car park between 0800 and 2000.
