We found ourselves at this place in Portugal, there is an aire there, no services shaded under large trees, Bon Jesus is quite something to see, we are not at all religious but respect others beliefs , and found this place very interesting it is on a Hill in a large parkland , you climb a lot of stairs to a level where there are two Chapels ? with painted murals on the walls depicting Christ etc, then go up another level, same again and then more levels, with the same theme, there are a lot of steps half way up the views are fantastic, but at this level my wife's fear of heights kicked in so we descended to the van, we noticed that there was a ventricular railway we could have ridden to the top. we had coffee back at the van and thought we should be able to drive up to the summit so set off to do this, at the top there was a huge Church Cathedral ,very splendid and ornate with loud clanging bells, large car parks but height barriers, there was a van parking area but again very shaded but we found a good spot in the sun on one of the roads in at the summit and spent the night wild camped there, a good day.
