Body Control Module

our windscreen wipers don’t turn off in the correct position on our Fiat Burstner and we are told that we have a faulty Body Control Module. There are no second hand ones to recondition available so we have ordered and paid for a new one but it won’t arrive for at least 8 weeks. Does anyone know if the wipers could pack up totally or can we still use the motorhome even if it rains.
Any advice

Not sure about your specific question, but this company seems to have them in stock...

Hope that helps

There are companies who specialise in reconditioned BCM's, I got one for my Renault Master for a fraction of the price of an OEM to fix a similar problem.

Sorry that's of no help to you now but others may like to pursue this route.

Can I get one for a fat 72 year old?

Who diagnosed the fault?

I would suggest it's much more likely to be a faulty wiper motor. They are quite sophisticated these days and control much themselves.

It was diagnosed by a specialist having tried out a new wiper motor which made no difference so a specialist was called in and sadly discovered that the BCM was faulty which is going to be an expensive job. They tried everywhere to buy a reconditioned one but because of the usual reasons they were all sold so we will have to wait and hope.
Had a busy day today but will try vanservices tomorrow although we don’t have a fiat Boxer

Bloody electronics might make them run better but they can be a RPITA when a component decided to pack up, and it seems we're not allowed to replace the 10p resister or relay etc which is what goes bang, it's criminal the cost of them too.

It cost us £880 last year to have the ECU removed, repaired and refitted.

A couple of years ago I had the same problem after fitting a new wiper unit. Vospers my Local Fiat M/D quoted £740 I found one in Italy including p&p for £400. Has anyone tried resetting it by disconnecting the main battery negative lead for a couple of mins may have to try it a few times but it cured mine.

We followed up on this but they only have post 2012 and I failed to add that our van is 2008
when it’s fixed at over £1000 in VAT we are putting our baby up for sale
£1000 - just to get your wipers working correctly 😱

There must be a cheaper way. Here's a recon one to fit the 2008 model Ducato

It does seem that you would also need to clone your old one as well though

Another option is this repair service

I noticed the same BCM part number 1359655070 is used in a number of Fiat vehicles, so don't restrict your search to just Fiat Ducatos

We went down that route and last week we couldn’t find a second hand one as we are having to wait 8 weeks or more for a new one
