Hi - I have scoured my user manuals for clear, concise information but no luck. I have blown air heating in the MoHo. I understand that the water reservoir must have water in it before using the gas controls to heat the water but does this apply to the blown air also? I tried using 240v electric, thinking it was like a fan heater, but only cold air is produced. Do I have to fill the water reservoir when using electric only for blown air (hot water not required...just hot air!) or must the reservoir be full to use either? Note that it is hot air I require mostly and not hot water. Can I have one without the other, using just electric or gas? Many thanks. Seasurfer.

Can you post the make and model of the heater for a more accurate answer, the blow heater in my 2002 Hymer (Truma) works without water in the tank and it doesn't have the option of heater only

Edit: after seeing witzends reply I should state mine is gas only

Electric on my Truma only heats the water for warm air heating you need to use gas. It also says you can use it for heating without water but I never have

Thanks...Ill check tomorrow and post my reply.

Thanks for your interest folks....I've reread both manuals carefully. It states that the heater (a Truma Ultrastore) must be filled, whether gas or electric is used to heat. The MoHo is also fitted with a Trumatic E 2400. I'm wondering if I hook up to electric on-site, (and my system is filled as per manual) can I use just the electric to heat the Ultrastore tank and switch on the fan to give blown-air heating....without the use of gas?
My confusion is because I'm not sure what the function of the Trumatic E 2400 is? Is it just a fan blower that will send warm air through the cabin, regardless of the fuel source? Does it obtain the blown-air heat from the Ultrastore tank via circulating pipes? The diagrams in the manual show the Ultrastore gets heat from a gas burner underneath and also from an immersion element, inside the water tank, from the electric. So, to summate, is the Trumatic E 2400 working as a dual fuel fan heater...using it's heat source from the tank? Thanks for your patience!

Looks like E2400 is gas only auxiliary warm air heater only with no hot water facility.
It uses 12v for control and fan but is not connected to 230v.

Anyway some reading to kep you busy.

The 240v EHU electric Only heats the water this will not heat the van. The blown air heating works on gas and the 12v habitation electric powers the fans
