Blow up bed for front seats

Hi
Has anyone any experience or opinion about the blow up mattresses you can get to turn car seats into beds. I am thinking of putting it in the front of the van for a child to sleep on. There are loads about but this links to a typical example there is a bit that goes into the foot well and then it lays across the front seats.

The ones on Amazon look to be designed to go across the back seats in a car, held in place by the front seats. I think there's a real chance of it tipping up if used at the front. Not long ago there was a thread on here about hammocks over front seats.

mum is small too! but it would be nice sometime to take her around Exmoor in the van,, Tried last weekend but as Bentleysontour found, the West country was a bit miserable!

I've put a cheap Halfords camp bed across the top of the doorcards (in a Transit). Just needed to saw one of the poles shorter and make a couple of little brackets to stop it sliding forward and job done. It's for our three year old daughter though; not sure it would take an adult, either wife or mother (in law).

Not my idea, found it on a VW forum, but for £10 it was worth a punt. Little one has tried it and loves it although we haven't been away in it yet (still to sell the old van).


It's not a great photo because it's hard to get far enough away but you can sort of see it.
