black marks

CRAZYCAMPERS

Guest
please can anybody help we have a brand new compass avantgarde it gets a wash every weekend after use but by the time the next weekend comes around we have a black mark down the side we think it is caused by the rubber channel where you can attach an awning. its just at the bend of the over head sleeper any suggestions welcome. this is our first mh and we want to look after her are we suppose to seal the rubber with something!!

i have tried all sorts of things to keep the black marks at bay contemplating painting my van black  then i may not see them :D:D

thanks guys!! perhaps i should clean it before i go instead of when i get back

Hia
before the end of May bank holiday I washed my compass advantgarde all by myself. Armed wth a long handled brush and a hand pump spray a pair of step ladders, sponges and a bucket. Caravan cleaner and Bobby Dazzler. I was dead chuffed she was all clean but I noticed that the bonnet and front of her had lost the shine. People say bobby dazzler keeps the dirt off but I am not sure on that. all i know she has no shine on her front.:(:(:(

I've used Fenwicks and it does remove the black streaks really well....
But also, so does cheap supermarket own brand spray polish remove them equally as good... At about 30p a can.

Incidentally i also use cheap supermarket own brand spray furniture wax on the plastic windows, and it removes all the tiny scratches that you get on them brilliantly.

I think these specialised polishes waxes and cleaners are a rip off.

There is nothing you can do to stop them coming back. I've had the dreaded black streaks on all my camper vans. Its where the rain will run down in the same places due to window rubbers and any other points where there is a protusion from the van.

Black Streaks

Hi all, I've been on the outside looking in for quite a while, but decided to join in if thats o.k.?
Has any one else ever tried the JML Magic sponge, it works like it says 'magic': but they do come back. No need for harsh abrasives...give it a go.

There probably wasn't as much rain before you polished it. This month has virtually rained non stop.

So why don't we start a trend for zebra striped vans - then we could hide in the grass too?:D:D
