The Chausson Allegro 83, first registered early 2006, that we recently took delivery of has a small sealed block and I would like to know what it is.

It has an led, which is usually green, sometimes red. There are three wires that go into the 12v distribution board.

Someone said it showed the state of charge to the vehicle battery from solar / EHU charger, but they were not sure.

I don't know much about Chaussons, but if they use the typical German standard of wiring, what you were told could make sense even though it has Italian electrics (CBE) and is a French brand ...
Red = Starter Battery +ve
Black = Leisure Battery +ve (this is the Schaudt standard. Something you would need to check yourself before making any changes as the usual purpose of black is -ve of course)
Brown = -ve (the German vehicle standard)

I had a solar split charge relay years back that looked the same as that..it would charge engine battery from the solar when the leisure one was full.
Put a meter on the battery when green light is on it will be charging it.

Hopefully someone with an identical unit will be along and supply the answer, if not then have a shuftie inside the control unit and make a note of where it's connected, should be relatively easy to see what it's job is then.

If you use Facebook join the Chausson owners group. There are people on there who will be able to answer that. Very helpful group

Thank you, a logical explanation. It's good to have this fitted to keep the engine battery topped up.

is that not from "Battery Master". This charges your vehicle battery once Leisure is full.

see link below

Yes, looks like it. May not be the same manufacturer but does the same job.
